What To Look For In Cheap Notebook Computers

Posted by Della Comments (0)

Before going for the cheap notebook, here is a difference between laptops and notebooks that might help you. The former are larger-sized than the latter and will have a built- in CD or DVD ROM drive. With notebooks there is no DVDs or CDs reading or writing, you have a smaller screen and the size is a lot reduced as compared to laptops. However, they have ultra-portability as a main and undeniable advantage, which is actually the purpose they were created with for the market launch. Still, today with all this sweeping technological advance, both expensive and cheap notebooks are created in such a way to share the same features with laptops or desktop computers, thus people tend to confuse the terms laptop and notebook precisely because of this similarity.

If you want to buy a notebook and would like some tips for making sure the item suits their budget and technical needs should consider one of the following three possibilities; one would be to buy one of those new cheap notebooks, another would be to acquire a discount one, and yet another would be to buy a second hand or a refurbished model. In general lines people tend to stress out a lot when choosing a model of a notebook and realizing it goes beyond their financial capabilities. If you are simply a regular computer user and you are going through the section of less cheap notebooks, then you are not in the right part of the store, my friend. If you need the computer for document processing, Internet research and communications, cheap notebooks work fine, as they don’t have to be either multi-leveled or too complex. These basic features should not reach deep into your pocket, so rethink your choice; you could save hundreds of dollars by being practical, realistic and informed about the whole thing.

If cost effective laptops are criticized for not having the option to read or write DVDs and other aspects that laptops may present, then remember that these devices have been created in such a manner that they can be upgraded all the time and after all constant improvement is the nature of the business.  That is why you should not let yourself get disconcerted with what you hear from others willing to pay more for a device that is much better performing. Consider that there are alternative options to the various limitations of cheap notebooks: thus the heating keyboard can be completed by the help of another regular one and if you long for entertainment, you can simply connect a flat screen to the laptop and enjoy great movies whenever you want. So yes, cheap notebooks can be not only a short term but also a long term solution if you give the purchase enough thought.

Laptops and Notebooks - 4 Common Issues and Fixes

Posted by Della Comments (0)

Many people these days are opting out of the desktop and buying laptops because they can have the best of both worlds at computer at home which is also mobile at the same time. And while they can be expensive for the high-end models, the many online discount shopping sites are making it possible for anyone to get cheap laptops as opposed to the high retail prices that are found in stores.

The main features that distinguishes laptops is their portability. Laptops perform as well as desktops, but come in a mobile, small package. But this same benefit ironically makes most laptops more vulnerable than desktops.

Port issues, overheating and hard drive issues are jsut a few of the problems associated with laptops. Fixes for laptops can range from very simple cleaning to full overhauls.

Hard Drive Issues and Fixes

Hard drive failures are another common issue for laptops. IDE drives are known to unplug due to movement of laptops. Until solid-state drives were introduced, laptops suffered from rotating hard drives and their vulnerability to shock. Either way, the common laptop fix for this issue was to reset the hard drive in place or replace it if needed.

Overheating

Another common laptop problem is overheating. Laptops are very vulmerable to heat. The fix for this is to clean the air intake from any debree and dust, and you may need to replace the fans that cool the system.

Assemby Problems

The portability function of laptops can sometimes cause internal parts to fail. A word of advice: if you ever disassemble a laptop to change an internal component, make sure you mark which screws go into which slot.

Using the wrong screw, like one that is longer than intended can damage internal parts.

CAble/Port Problems

Ports for peripherals can also fail. Often users forget about cables before lifting them and cause ports (especially power ports) to break. Usually this requires replacing the damaged port or replacing the board.

As with desktop computers, laptop computers also suffer from software problems, network configuration issues, many types of malware and viruses registry errors. But these are fixed by reconfiguring, resetting, or reloading software and by using the best anti virus software to protect from and remove infections.

Of course, some laptop issues will require a technician, extensive hardware replacement or a new machine all together.
